About the Program
TEnnessee Tutoring Corps
To help address student learning losses that have resulted from education disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic, Tennessee Tutoring Corps is a unique opportunity for qualified students to support summer learning opportunities in math and reading for Tennessee children preparing to enter 1st grade through 4th grade.
In 2020, the Bill and Crissy Haslam Foundation, in partnership with youth-serving organizations and charter schools across the state of Tennessee, launched the Tennessee Tutoring Corps with the goal of recruiting at least 1,000 qualified college tutors eager to give back to their community and help prevent summer learning loss among the most vulnerable students.
Recognizing that many college students are also experiencing financial strain or limited internship opportunities due to the pandemic, tutors will be compensated with a stipend of up to $1,000 for their work through the duration of the summer program.
