The “summer slide” is a real problem each year.
“Summer slide” is a learning loss problem that affects thousands of students nationwide every year and worsens the education inequities students already face in high-poverty communities. As a result of COVID-19 and the education disruptions it has caused, providing students with academic instruction this summer is even more critical to address learning gaps and prepare them for a successful 2021-22 school year.
About THE PROGRAM
Tennessee Tutoring Corps was formed to help prevent a “COVID avalanche” of summer learning loss by recruiting qualified college students to tutor rising 1st-grade to rising 4th-grade students
BECOME A TUTOR
Tennessee Tutoring Corps plans to recruit at least 1,000 young adults who are eager to give back to their community and help children continue their education over the summer months.
